Habitat Energy was delighted to win ‘Trading & Optimisation Team of the Year’ at last week’s inaugural Energy Storage Awards, which took place in London on Thursday 28th September.

Since our launch in 2017 we have pioneered a merchant-first approach to battery storage optimisation, building our technology and team around the belief that the long-term value of battery storage will be driven by opportunities in wholesale markets.

Today we optimise one of the largest battery storage and renewable energy asset portfolios in the world, with a team of over 80 people spanning Australia, the UK and the USA.

Through a combination of AI-powered forecasts, expert human traders, and deep asset intelligence we consistently deliver market-leading returns for our clients, continuously developing our service in response to changing markets, client requirements and technology.

This award reflects the performance of our entire team and our commitment to building strategic, trusted partnerships with our clients. From project design and investment to asset onboarding and operation, we work together with asset owners and developers to maximise revenue and manage risk, unlocking the full potential of their assets for the long-term.

Jon Doughty, Managing Director, Habitat Energy UK

The increasing sophistication of teams behind trading desks and optimisers has underpinned the success of the battery storage industry. Habitat Energy…is on a wave of international expansion, showed judges plenty of evidence of its success in pairing artificial intelligence and human expertise to maximise revenues of its clients’ portfolios.
