We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Kirschner to the position of Managing Director, Habitat Energy USA. Mike will have overall leadership responsibility of our rapidly growing team based in Austin Texas, spanning trading team & route to market, business development & partnerships, and guiding the technical development of our battery storage and renewable optimisation platform.

We are going live with the optimisation of our first assets in ERCOT later in 2022, expanding our services to other ISOs in 2023, so Mike’s appointment couldn’t come at a better time. Mike brings a wealth of experience from senior power trading, analytics and business development roles in the US at Independent Power Producers such as Vistra Corp, Dynegy and others, as well as a passion for the role of technology and innovation in the power sector.

We are thrilled that Mike has chosen to join us as we work to become market leaders in flexibility optimisation in the US as we already are the UK. Mike brings years of experience in the markets and disciplines that are critical for achieving the best commercial outcomes for grid scale storage and other flexible assets, as well as an infectious enthusiasm and positivity. Welcome to the team Mike.
